"Bunkoed"- this comes from lighting Oklahoma! for a local am dram group, along with "you feeble-minded shike-poke", surely a contender for Best Insult in a Musical.
I've often thought that that would be a good way to write a novel or story because I tend to come up with seperate scenes in my mind in no particular order and would then have to fit them together. However, when it comes to actually writing things down, whether essays or stories or whatever, I can't do it unless I start at the beginning and work my way through to the end, even if later I go back and change the order of things.

Bunkoed...? Must be an IoW thing...
I've just realised that the best way I write accounts or reports of things that have happened is not to write the document from start to finish, but to carve it out of any thoughts that appear in my head at the time, then re-arrage it and discard off the excess. It's not written, but more, moulded into shape.
That's the best way I can describe it...
Is that just me, or does anyone else find that?

Puns is ok then :)
Oh my god, I'm listening to Eternal.. and I'm not moved to press the 'Next' button on the MP3 playlist! Heeeeelp!
Well, even if it is on hardware, AFAIK, all it is doing is verifying a certification code at the start of a page of memory. Now, is it that difficult to a) duplicate this code b) work out what the format of this code is from that?
Of course, if they outlaw hex file editors too.. ;)
Er, where's everyone else? Wake up! :)

Sir, I know. I was punning. Badly.
And as regards about dissassembling things - what if it's on the processor chip? Would make thinks a leetle bit tricksier, unless you built your own blackmarket processors...

Oh, that. Yes, I heard about that... although IMO, things like that can be duped by anyone who has a sufficient knowledge of how to disassemble things.
And what I meant by Palladium/Cold Fusion was actually nuclear fusion at low temperatures (ie much lower than millions of degrees). I believe Palladium is weird in this respect, since in experiments with electrolysis using Palladium electrodes, its attracts a lot of H+ ions (protons).
But anyway, enough of the Chemistry lesson. :)

You see? Even techies don't know about it :|
Microsoft + U.S Government + "Entertainment Industry" (a nice euphemism there), fucking up general-purpose computing again. Idea being, you can only run software they approve on hardware they approve. Now, is that going to include mp3 players?
Not bloody likely.
*sigh* and most people don't even know about it.
ColdFusion is icky. I'm trying to avoid learning it at the moment. Must... learn... Ada... instead....
Oh, and Keith: Where are you? I want to talk to you :P

Fnar! I resized the window, and Netscape thought it would be a good idea to load the whole damn thing again, clearing my form. Gah!
Ooh, and I try to post it, and what happens? Netscape brings up a javascript error. But, I'm not letting it get away with it this time, I copy+paste it out first, THEN reload.
Try to pull the wool over my eyes will you Netscape... not likely. Ha!
But as I was saying...
Rob: good luck with resits. If you need any help with maths, just scream. Or something.
Hannah: Well done... I applied to St John's too, but didn't get in. The interview was great fun though, met lots of really nice people :)

Absolutely craply. if you really want to know - suffice to say I'm resitting maths this year. Not bad, however, considering that I lost the will to live completely halfway through the year, and warned everyone at that time.

Right. I've finished disassembling the driver format that !PhotoLink uses.
This is good.
Because now I have half a program for a digicam->webcam interface :) Not only this, but it can be used for any camera for which Photodesk have a driver made up for RISC OS. :)
Asp-Cam will be coming to a CRT (or TFT for those of you with lots of cash) near you...

Rob: Sorry, it's something I came up with last night. It's a little adventure into a dark dramatic world.
I don't usually think up of stuff like that, but I just thought of one or two lines of it, and it sounded appealingly dark :)

"Of course, how silly of me. You'd think rationally about the situation, wouldn't you."
"You're the one who's always saying how I shouldn't think so logically all the time."
He turned back to her.
"Thinking logically... thinking rationally... they're the same, aren't they?" he asked, a genuine question. The calmness in his voice was unnerving.
His eyes narrowed. A smile crept across his lips, as the thought germinated in his mind.
"But being irrational... that's completely illogical."
